Originally the song was called Game but he changed it to Daddy because he felt like that title would garner more attention. Most people will initially think he’s calling himself Daddy, when in actuality, it is merely a shout-out to his pops.
The concept of the song is to show Nicky Neptune’s rise and the idea of him running an organization. He got the beat four years ago from Ro Marsalis (also the producer of Nicky Neptune’s “Wrong Thangz”) and he just dropped a song to it this year. When he first got the beat, he didn’t want to rap on it because it was too cold and he didn’t want to just put anything on it. The beat resurfaced and he immediately felt motivated to write the whole song in one night. He recorded it at Azmyth Studio in Indianapolis with an engineer, Dyllen
